I used the nRF transparent UART specification rather than the Microchip version. I got a transparent UART function working with a Silicon labs Bluetooth module (I originally used a BM71 but we abandoned this design since we could not get a good range). Hope you are making good progress, and any advice is appreciated. I don't see a Smart Data App for Android at the Google Play Store. Indeed, in looking at the response above from Katela, while helpful, when you get to Step 11, it pertains Smart Data App (iOS). In the above, I've emphasized Android as it seems there is more available for iOS than Android. ![]() This is not very difficult as the default configuration of the RN4870 is Transparent UART. ![]() I appreciate that such a "UART wire replacement using Bluetooth" is not very useful, but at least it demonstrates the UART via Bluetooth communication. I have also been able to establish a serial link between two of the RN4870 PICtail plus boards, each connected via supplied USB cable to separate laptops. The BLE Sensor App requires the Sensor board and allows you to display a potentiometer setting, the level of light hitting a photo resistor, binary level of a push button, and you can remotely vary the duty cycle of an LED on the Sensor Board via the phone. ![]() Using these, I have been able to get the BLE Sensor App to work on my Android phone. I have the RN4870 PICtail plus along with the Sensor Board. Pedro, Have you resolved your issue regarding Transparent UART communication with an Android APP? If so, I have the same interest, and would appreciate any advice.
